About Us

The Red Shed farm stay is a beautiful recently renovated ‘Barn house’, the original home on our farm. Set in the centre of a 56 acre hobby farm, The Red Shed is fully self contained, with air conditioning for your year round comfort. It is bright with lots of natural light and views.

The renovation has taken 8 years, slowly replacing windows, removing the roof iron and replacing insulation, removing and replacing indoor walls and insulation, new flooring, painting and decorating, new kitchen and fully renovated bathroom.

The Red Shed is a 20 min drive from Dorrigo located on the main road to Armidale. The house is 200m from the road, so noise from passing traffic is minimal.
We have two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with two singles. Linen and towels supplied. The main area is open lounge, dining, kitchen area. The kitchen in fully equipped with a full oven and cook top, range hood, microwave, dishwasher and coffee machine. The large bathroom is downstairs with shower, toilet and clothes washing machine. The kitchen is well stocked with basic pantry items such as tea coffee (with machine) salt, pepper, sugar, flour, baking paper, cling wrap, foil, butter, bread, bread spreads, milk, and some cereals for breakfast.

Home made goat milk soap, made on farm provided in bathroom, along with Moo Goo shampoo and conditioner.

The Red Shed is situated in the centre of the farm with animals in paddocks easily accessible and seen from the Red Shed yard. We have goats, chooks, ducks, geese, sheep, cows, alpacas, horses and donkeys. We have 4 maremma dogs who help keep the poultry safe from predators during the day. The Maremma dogs come over to the main house at night and back ‘to work’ each day in the poultry paddock. The poultry and goats are locked into safe sheds at night. Sheep are brought up to a paddock close to the house at night and donkeys stay with the sheep to help keep them safe from predation. We have border collie dogs in the main house yard as pets.

Stellar Dairy Goat farm is a ‘working hobby farm’ and we have many animals, making animal noises, of course mostly during the day.

You can also take tracks and walk around the farm thru the paddocks and bushland. While the animals are ‘friendly’ they are still ‘farm animals’ and not to be approached unsupervised. The horses and cows will most likely not pay you any attention while you walk past.

Seeing the animals ‘up close’ and feeding some, is possible by negotiation. A 1 hour ‘tour’ is available on request.

We provide a welcome gift of some of our ‘Dorrigo Pepper’ items and some of our Goat milk soap.
